That's the scenario in which Giulia's dazzling beauty moves, intimidated when still a maiden, strategic and wise in maturity.
"damnatio memoriæ": scandal and cancellation
The Farnese, from which Giulia came, rose to the highest level of power of that time.
And he could not tolerate the scandal in which the name of the dynasty was associated with the "Pope's concubine".
Then the Farnese family decreed that all the portraits with which the masters of that time had immortalized Giulia were to be destroyed.
Beautiful masterworks were thrown in the fire, condemning her to half a millennium of oblivion.

"Duo" is the perfect formula to represent every couple, celebrating that world of balances, symbols and stories in which the partners live.
And this portrait, showing the faces of historical figures as if they were living now, is the most revealing prototype, perfectly refined in each side.

Extreme pictorial colour: the visual surface of the background against which the bodies stand out was maniacally prepared and refined with subsequent stratifications.
It is optically the deepest black, so as to give maximum impact when observing the work live.
For this reason, the photographic documentation shots also required particular precautions.
